What is life?

We’re contingent beings.

Our consciousness must be an emergent evolutionary by product.

There exists no intrinsic purpose due to our contingent nature.

The only way something can have a purpose that extends beyond its own self or system is if it’s a necessary being. I, for one, don’t see any reason to believe in any sentient necessary beings. But how about insentient necessary entities? Perhaps. Perhaps our existence is determined by the physical laws of nature. Which leads one to the consequence argument re: moral responsibility.

Our purpose… to take an almost (but not quite) natural existentialist stance I could claim in this rambling post of my thoughts that our purpose is what we think it is (as long as we don’t extend it beyond our systemic reach).

What in tha fawk did I just write.
